Ventolin and Salamol are brand names for the medication salbutamol, which belongs to a class of drugs known as short-acting beta agonists(SABAs). They work by relaxing the muscles in the airways, making it easier to breathe during asthma attacks or episodes of wheezing or shortness of breath.
Ventolin and Salamol contain the same active ingredient, salbutamol, and work in the same way to relieve asthma symptoms. The difference lies in the brand name and any inactive ingredients used in the formulation. Some individuals may find one brand more effective or tolerable than the other, but they are essentially interchangeable.
