Acne
Acne happens when pores in your skin get clogged. This often occurs because of too much oil called sebum, which is made by glands in your hair follicles. Normally, sebum helps keep your skin moisturised and protected. But when there's too much sebum, it can lead to acne.
Acne occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. The primary causes include:·
Excess Oil Production: Overproduction of oil (sebum) by skin glands.·
Clogged Pores: Dead skin cells and oil block hair follicles, leading to clogged pores.·
Bacteria: Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) bacteria can exacerbate inflammation in clogged pores.
These factors combined contribute to the development of acne lesions such as pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads on the skin.
Acne can be triggered by various factors such as hormonal changes, genetics, stress, diet, skincare products, medications, environmental factors, poor skincare habits, physical irritation, and picking/squeezing.
Azelaic acid is a topical medication that helps treat acne by unclogging pores and reducing inflammation.
Treclin gel combines tretinoin (a retinoid) and clindamycin (an antibiotic) to treat acne by preventing the growth of bacteria and promoting skin cell turnover.
Lymecycline is an oral antibiotic that works by killing acne-causing bacteria and reducing inflammation.
Azelaic acid works by decreasing the production of keratin, which helps to prevent the formation of acne lesions.
Treclin gel combines two active ingredients that help to unclog pores, reduce inflammation, and prevent the growth of acne-causing bacteria.

It can take several weeks to notice an improvement in acne symptoms with acne treatments. It's important to use these medications consistently as prescribed to see the best results.
Common side effects of azelaic acid include skin irritation, redness, and dryness.
Treclin gel may cause dryness, peeling, and mild irritation.
Lymecycline can cause stomach upset, nausea, and diarrhoea.
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat it dry before applying a thin layer of azelaic acid or Treclin gel to the affected areas. Follow instructions carefully, and avoid getting the medication in your eyes, mouth, or nose.
Along with using medication, maintaining a healthy skincare routine, avoiding harsh products, and practicing good hygiene can help improve acne treatment results. Additionally, eating a balanced diet, staying hydrated and managing stress levels may also contribute to clearer skin.
